Willards Fire Company Quits Monhtly Tournaments, Will Hold Twice A Year Deep Stacks

The Willards Fire Company announced today they will cease holding thier monthly tournaments.  For the past seven years Willards has held a charity poker tournament on the first Saturday of each month.  For the past 18 months or so the attendance dwindled to below 20.  This past Saturday, April 3rd, only 5 players showed up to play in the tournment.  Due to the low attendance the Fire Company cancelled the event and decided to stop their monthly tournamenets.

They have decided to hold two $200 Deep Stacks Buyins the first Saturday of October and February of each year.  Those tournaments will feature $30,000 in chips.

 
Over 30 in Girdletree on the 27th
34 Players showed up for Girdletree's Deep Stacks on Saturday, March 27th. It was a $200 Buyin Deep Stacks ($170 towards the prize) at the Girdletree Firehouse.  $30,000 in chips with 30 minute blinds.  Doors open at 10AM with three $45 SNGs with 1st & 2nd winning their $200 Buyin.  They paid 4 places.  1st is $2,850, 2nd; $1,600, 3rd; $850 and 4th is $250.  When there was four players they reached a chop.  The chip leader, Ken S. took $2,000 and the other three, Steve R., Chris H. & Scott P. each won $875.  There was 1 million in chips in play, the chip leader had $550,000.  Blinds were $8/$16,000 with a $2,000 ante.  The winners were 1st Place, KenA $5/5 game lasted late into the night.
 
Over 30 In Berlin
Over 30 players showed up in Berlin on Saturday, March 20th. The morning started off at 10AM with 3 - $35 SNGs putting 6 players in the game.  A total of 31 Players with 2 reseats made a $3,300 prize pool and a $1,650 1st place prize.  At 7:10PM the final four players agreed to a chip proportionate chop giving 1st place $1,470, 2nd Place $1,100 and 3rd and 4th Place $375 each.  It was a $150 Buyin with $20,000 in tournament chips, 30 minutes blinds, with an extra $3,000 in chips for those players who are registered by 12 Noon.  
 
Low Turn Out Still Made A Successful 4th Annual ESRPC

The 2010 4th Annual Eastern Shore Regional Poker Classic was held Saturday, March 6, 2010 at the Wicomico Civic Center in Salisbury, Maryland.  Usually the ESRPC is a two day event, this year it was held as a one day event.  The morning started off as usual with 30 Players waiting when the doors opened at 8AM for the last minute qualifiers.  By the time the Main Event started at 10AM 90 Players had entered the qualifying satellites and 18 more players were in the Main Event.  Over 60 players walked in and paid $300 at the door.  The Buyin was $250 through February 26th and $275 up until March 6th.  The Main Event started with 184 players.  The first hand started at 10:10AM, 54 players remained at the dinner break and the money was reached at 8:20PM with the last hand dealt at 10:25PM.  When play concluded the blinds were $100,000/$200,000 with a $10,000 ante with 12 minutes before the $150,000/$300,000 level.  The prizes were 1st, $12,000; 2nd $7,000; 3rd $3,600, 4th $2,500; 5th, $2,000; 6th, $1,600; 7th, $1,200; 8th, $1,000; 9th, $800, 10th, $600; 11 -15th, $400, 16 – 18th, $350 and 19th Place was $250.  There was no bubble because the 20th and 21st place went out on the same hand and we didn’t get their names.

Mardela Under 30 Players

Update: March 12, 2010 @ 7:30PM - Play concluded with a 7 way chop of $425 at 7:20PM with the blinds at $4,000/8,000. 
25 Players entered today's, Saturday, March 13th charity poker tournament in Mardela (could have been 26, more on that in a moment).  20 of the 25 players were early and recieved the $3,000 chip bonus for being registered before 12 noon.  It was a $150 buyin with $120 going towards the prize and $20,000 in chips with 30 minute blinds.  The prize pool was $3,000 and they were paying 3 places.  1st Place was $1,500, 2nd Place $900 and 3rd Place $600. The morning started with only one SNG putting two players in the tournament for $60 each.  The tournament director for the next several months at Mardela is this webmaster, the same for the Civic Center.

Cambridge Elks Has Successful 2nd Super Bowl Deep Stacks

The make up date (Saturday, February 27, 2010) was a good date for the make up of the Cambridge Elks 2nd Annual Super Bowl Deep Stacks.  They were snow out and had to cancel on February 6th and the make up date was this past Saturday.

46 Players with 1 Reseat made for a $7,900 Prize Pool with 1st Place at $3,700.  They were paying 5 places.  Due to the most of the 46 players showing up at 11:50, the game didn't get started until 12:15 and the last hand was dealt at 9:10PM.  Players got $30,000 in chips and blinds were 30 minutes long.  When play concluded the blinds were $15,000/$30,000 with a $5,000 ante with 12 Minutes to go until $20/40,000.  There was $1.4 million in chips in play and the average chips stack was $160,000.  Two players had over $350,000.  A chop was agreed with 7 players left.  The two chip leaders took $1,560 each and the other five got $900.  The top two were Tim and Marie.

They also raffled off two ESRPC Seats to next weeks Wicomico Civic Center event.  For $10, two players won $250 seats to the 4th Annual ESRPC. The Cambridge Elks would like to thank all those who played and made their 2nd event successful.  They look forward to next years.
