Salisbury Moose Holds Another Successful Deep Stacks
Written by Rick Niblett

The Salisbury Moose held another Deep Stacks on Saturday, March 24th.  42 Players with 3 Reseats made for a $4,200 prize pool.  They paid 5 places with a $1,550 First Place Prize.  The winners were Rick Bobby P 1st Place and $1,550, 2nd Place was Scott P and $1,005, 3rd Place was Brandon R and $670, 4th Place was Ray Mc and $545, 5th Place was Bill I and $430.  Tess was the bubble and got $150.  Everyone had a great time and the Moose served great food.  The Moose is just one example of great Charity Poker in Maryland.  It's hard to find a prize pool in a Casino that offers a great playing time (blinds) with a good amount of chips ($30,000).

Just Another Charity Poker Tournament - NOT!

The Following is a Comentary by the Webmaster

The intent of my following comments is not to insult, embarrass or place blame on the sponsor, the charity or the majority of the players.   The people responsible for organizing the Cambridge events should be commended for continuing to offer the local players this venue.  In light of Delaware casinos, home games and other charity locations, it is hard for a charity to hold a successful event where the player gets an opportunity to play a professional style tournament at a fair cost with a better than casino “rate-of-return” for their investment and the charity raises decent money for their cause.

The event this story is written about was held at the Cambridge Elks on Saturday, March 10th, but it could have been anywhere outside of a casino environment. As a matter of fact it has occurred and as with any tournament director it could have been handled in a variety of ways.  To those who felt I didn’t do enough, I apologize.  To those that think I handle it fairly, thank you.  To Pat L. I’m sorry if you felt I didn’t do enough, soon enough or let “him” back in the game.  You know I have the utmost respect for you as a gentleman and for your game.

I won’t mention specific names outside of what I’ve said above, but I’m sure it won’t be hard to figure out the exact players.  To player “A”, I’ve known you over 10 years and think you’re a great person, sober.  Drinking or drunk you’re a horrible drunk!
