Update: Tuesday, January 12th - 1AM. - 40 Players showed up for the VFW Monday Night Super Satellite for Girdletree's $500 Big Buyin Deep Stack Tournament set for this Saturday.  The Satellite brought $2,500 in the prize pool making 5 $500 seats for this Saturday's Big Buyin Deep Stacks Tournament in Girdletree.  Read below for complete details and click the Read More links to see, players list, payouts and blind schedule.

In the original post for this tournament, Girdletree was offering the 1st place winner a $1,500 Borgata Deep Stacks seat for the week after this tournament.  Although most players liked the concept, they had questions about how it was being paid for.  Some thought it was a free seat given to DCP or Girdletree by the Borgata.  Nice try, but No!  It was being paid for out of the prize pool.  Because of the controversy and issue revolving around the Borgata seat the $1,500 will be added back into the prize pool.  A concept that has been discussed is in the event of a "Chop", leaving the $1,500 to be played for for 1st place.  More will be forthcoming regarding the $1,500 in the weeks ahead.  They will except all comments regarding the $1,500 and to reserve your seat at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. I'm looking forward to this $500 buyin. The one held at the VFW was great, with good quality players. None of those idiots that play any two cards. I like the Borgata seat giveaway too! I agree with lefty, glad to see some sponsors are trying new things.
  • TryToWinButNeverDo  - lmbo

Sounds like it was a great tournament. Sorry Jeff I missed it. Holy Cow on the payouts for the day. Over $16,000 in cash. You don't see that very often at the local charities anymore.
  • lefty
    SUPER TOURNAMENT! Great job, Jeff.

Without a doubt the best local tournament I've ever played. Jeff definately knows his poker and how to run a tournament. The players were decent too and not chasing every draw!
